Nu Mu

Interest in Delta Sigma Theta had always been present at Loyola University. Eventually, in 1976, this interest turned to action. A group of young women who wished to increase their community involvement set out to establish a charter on campus. Therefore, with the assistance of Caroline Baumann, a member of New Orleans Alumnae, they set out to complete their task. They held various fundraisers to raise money to attend the Regional Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas, and in June of 1976, this group became the model initiates at the convention. They then returned to Loyola and started the charter line. The Nu Mu charter was granted February 26, 1977. Nu Mu was chartered as a city-wide chapter which included the campuses of Loyola University, Tulane University, and Dominican College.

Today, Nu Mu is actively involved in the Loyola and Tulane communities.
